HOME BIRTH PLAN

You have chosen your midwife and the midwife has chosen you to work together thus a home birth plan is usually not necessary. However, if you prefer a very hands-off birth, it would be wise to create a home birth preference so all who will be attending are aware of your wishes.

HOSPITAL BIRTH PLAN

Know the medical model of care, interventions and protocols to make your birth plan and informed choices. It is a good idea to make several copies to give to the nurses and doctors and ask them to “please read”. However, do not expect them to follow through with your hospital birth plan.
